FAQs and SAFETY
We know that your baby is the most precious thing in your whole world..... and because of that we have all of our teething toys and dummy chains independently tested and certified according to the ACCC regulations. AU/NZS 8124 & EN 12586.
As with anything you give to your baby, always inspect your teether or dummy chain for damage or irregularities and replace when necessary or after 6 months of use. Use only under adult supervision.
The components we use to make our products are Silicone and Beech Wood. Silicone is non-toxic & BPA free. It contains no Lead, Cadmium, Phthalates, PVC, Mercury or Heavy Metals. So not only is it completely free from all nasty chemicals, it is also hypo-allergenic and will not harbor the growth of mould.
Our wooden teethers (and components) are super smooth on baby's gums as an alternative to the soft silicone. Chewing the wood is what helps cut baby's tooth whilst the silicone soothes.
Beech wood is a hard wood that is non-splintering, naturally antibacterial and shock proof - see how many times baby can drop it to make us pick it up! It should not be soaked in water, rather to clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth. Over time, the wood may become a little rough - this will be due to baby's saliva; you can use ultra fine sandpaper to rub over the surface and your teether will return to its former silkiness. At the same time, you may wish to re-coat the timber to seal it; we use our own bees wax and olive oil blend but you can also just use olive oil or coconut oil.
Our range of jewellery is what we call "Baby-proof"! It will withstand all the grabbing, tugging your baby can manage - it is perfect to use as a nursing aid to distract baby whilst they feed and to stop them pulling your hair and neck. Silicone jewellery should never be used as, or in place, of a teething toy. The sheer design (i.e. a long piece of 'string') makes it a choking hazard. It should always be worn by an adult while baby engages and plays with it.
To care for your Indi & Frey products, Wipe clean with a damp cloth, wash with warm soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher. Items containing wood should not be fully immersed placed in dishwasher. Air dry or pat with a lint free cloth.
